Is there no way out of the mind?
Sylvia Plath
Hi! I’m Halley
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, as well as the proud owner of Nagy Counseling LLC. Before becoming a therapist, I was passionate about teaching grades Pre-K to 4. Now I honor this skill by teaching Couples and Family Therapy at Robert Morris as an adjunct professor. When I’m not engaging in work, you can find me hosting dinner parties, dancing at concerts, shopping at flea markets, reading, traveling, and practicing yoga. I’m a lifelong learner, as well as a lifelong teacher. Perhaps we’ll get to learn from each other!
Services Offered
Individual Therapy
I primarily work with individuals 18 and older. We can meet in person, in my Oakland office, or via telehealth, as long as you are in the state of Pennsylvania. The individual therapy I provide to clients tends to be long-term work in an effort to get to the root of the problem and make long-lasting changes.
Group Therapy
Throughout the course of each year, I tend to offer a variety of group therapy sessions. These sessions often take place via Zoom so they are accessible for all individuals. Group therapy can be a way to connect with others, read new material, and engage in your own thinking. Previous groups have included: Bowen Family Systems thinking, therapy book clubs, and better understanding self.
Supervision
I offer individual supervision to those working towards licensure or to those simply wanting more guidance/feedback from a Bowen Family Systems perspective. This tends to look like: discussing case studies and client issues, looking at your own family of origin, and how to observe when your own reactivity might be showing up in sessions with clients.
